Public notices of exemption applications

SACAT is required to give notice of applications to the general public.

Anyone can then make a written submission to SACAT in relation to the application. SACAT then conducts a public hearing to determine whether it is necessary and appropriate for an exemption to be granted.

APPLICATION FOR EXEMPTION  (from a provision of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984)

First Applicant: LOCKHEED MARTIN AUSTRALIA PTY LTD

Second Applicant: LOCKHEED MARTIN GLOBAL INCORPORATED

Third Applicant: SIKORSKY AIRCRAFT AUSTRALIA LTD

The applicants, LOCKHEED MARTIN AUSTRALIA PTY LIMITED and LOCKHEED MARTIN GLOBAL INC and SIKORSKY AIRCRAFT AUSTRALIA LTD has applied to the South Australian Civil and Administrative Tribunal for an exemption from Section 52, 53, 54 and 103 of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984. The exemption is sought for a period of three (3) years.

The exemption is sought to enable the ongoing provision of services on defence programs that have been identified by the Australian Government and Department of Defence as integral to Australia’s security interests and the capabilities of its defence forces, pursuant to the provisions of Section 92 of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984.

Any person who wishes to make a written submission to the Tribunal in relation to the application for exemption should contact the Tribunal registry. Written submissions should be provided to the registry by 9 AM 1 June 2026.
